Email Settings can be done for Company/Schools in the hierarchical manner. The settings done for a client or company can be inherited by constituent schools. Schools can also choose to have settings of their own. This can be done in the following way.
-
Create Client Settings.
Login as the client and Click on the username on the top right hand corner and click Company Drop Down menu. Click on the EMAIL tab in the resultant page. Click on Add to add new settings. The SMTP settings depend on the SMTP Provider. See Screenshot below.
- Choose to Inherit or Add settings for New School.
When creating a new school "Inherit Email Settings" Check box enables to Inherit the settings of the Client. This means the school will have settings that were defined in the Client page (Step 1). If new settings are to be added leave this box unchecked. See screen shot below.
- Add own settings for school.
If new settings are to be added for a school then click the Email Tab in the school page and click "Add". In the new page add SMTP settings as given in step 1. This will create new settings for school.
Below is a sample setting for an email client. Settings vary from provider to provider.
PS: - We have successfully integrated and ensured the working of the following SMTP providers.
- SendGrid
- Amazon
The providers who were using the similar configuration like the above providers should work with Fedena.
Note: If you are using free gmail account for smtp in order to keep your account secure, google may block Fedena from accessing your account, and you’ll see an error message when trying to sign in.
To overcome this you can try one of the following steps.
visit http://www.google.com/accounts/DisplayUnlockCaptcha and sign in with your Gmail username and password. If necessary, enter the letters in the distorted picture.
Go to https://www.google.com/settings/security/lesssecureapps and choose “Allow".
